Naqsh is a contemporary theatrical performance that recounts tales of humans and the land; it tells the stories of humans who built civilizations that were a beacon of culture, art and science and the story of a land that embraced these civilizations, since the dawn of history, and safekept their tales.

The Overview
On the occasion of the Kingdom’s hosting of the 45th Extended Session of the World Heritage Commission (UNESCO), Hwadi Company Ltd. was commissioned by MOC Saudi to create a theatrical performance for the opening ceremony. The show celebrated the various civilizations that prospered in the Arab Peninsula since the dawn of history. It featured the first ever Thamudic and Nabatean songs.

The Scope
We took on the role of Artistic Directors for the show. Our scope included project conception, cultural research into the history of the Arab Peninsula, story creation, scenography, costumes and screen content. We collaborated with OLC (Tiziana Pagliarulo) for the choreography and staging, Dirty Monitor for screen content, Saudi composer Abdul Aziz Al-Dabbah for the music and Saudi fashion designer Nouf Mallawi for the costumes.
